The New Fidelity's new California Summer single has gone Top 40
on the Peru FM Terrestrial Rock Station Doble Nueve 99.1 FM.
Also in there on the list is Cage The Elephant, The Strokes,
The Sounds, and Foster The People. Check the playlist here.

We haven’t met LA Record writer Alder Bloom as far as we know, but we were very happy that he reviewed our new California Summer 7″ in the brand new LA Record. The magazine hit the streets this week and  he seems to have dug it! Here’s some of what he had to say:

New Fidelity have always channeled the early 60’s Brit pop sound of bands like The Hollies, The Dave Clark Five and The Zombies but also infuse what is uniquely a Southern Californian beach sound as well. Their new single is unabashedly bright and in full technicolor. It literally takes you far, far away to a place where Governors don’t commute the sentences of murderers and gas does not cost $4.00 a gallon. If you allow the music to do so, it will strip away years of cynicism that can, these days, coat us all like heavy layers of paint.
Check out the full review on Alder’s blog  here.

It’s cool that KROQ radio legend Rodney Bingenheimer has been playing The New Fidelity’s  new California Summer EP lately. Here’s a recent playlist where he played both sides!

Frankie Alvaro Presents
Benefit Show for Japan Features Live Music, DJs & Vintage Wheels Show @ Alex’s Bar, Sunday April 10th, 3pm-2am

Event promoter, deejay and Salon Pop co-owner Frankie Alvaro didn’t want to just donate money to help relief efforts in Japan in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami, so he decided to take manners into his own hands and organize a benefit with a few of his friends, musical colleagues and vintage wheels enthusiasts. The event is slated for Sunday, April 10th from 3pm-2am and features a vintage scooter, motorcycle, van, and car show in the front parking lot of Alex’s Bar [2913 E. Anaheim St., Long Beach, CA 90804; 562-434-8292].
